your facility can HELP accelerate medical research.

Your facility can help advance life-saving biomedical research by collecting small blood samples (100ml or less) from your patients. The process is simple and we offer onsite training to ensure that the collection process has little-to-no impact on your regular business and patient care. Patients can also visit any StemExpress Stem Cell Collection Center and donate.

Partner with StemExpress Foundation to directly impact the speed of biomedical research and help patients worldwide! Learn more about our different programs below.

Cancer Program

Cancer is a general term used to describe hundreds of diseases, all of which are unique in their molecular and cellular makeup. According to the National Cancer Institute, approximately 39.6 percent of Americans will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives. For many cancers there are no known treatments. Providing scientists with cancerous blood and tissue samples will improve the speed and volume of cancer research.

MATERNAL BLOOD PROGRAM

Maternal blood testing offers a safe and easy means of detecting chromosomal abnormalities during pregnancy. Less invasive than chronic villus sampling or amniocentesis, this type of detection, called non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), involves a simple blood screen which analyzes DNA. StemExpress Foundation has supported the commercial development of Non-Invasive Prenatal Tests (NIPT). These tests are important to ensure expecting mothers obtain the correct information concerning their child’s health. Maternal blood samples provide researchers with the means to continue the development and advancement of NIPT screening.

ANEUPLOIDY PROGRAM

Researchers now know that the genetic material found in maternal blood can be used to screen for aneuploidies and other chromosomal abnormalities. The screening from a simple maternal blood draw, called cell-free DNA screening, has a lower risk than chorionicvillus screening or amniocentesis. Aneuploidy positive maternal blood samples provide researchers with the means to continue the development and advancement of NIPT screening.
